Danny's Orphans
Among the orphans we support, there is one older brother (one of the orphans) whom we always watch with great attention.
Every time we serve them a meal, he doesn't think of himself first. He sits down, takes his little brother onto his lap, and feeds him first. He always wipes his mouth, encourages him, and makes sure he finishes his hot meal.
Only afterward, once he is sure his little brother is full, does he begin to eat himself, often with a big smile of relief.
These two little ones (on the right), along with four other orphans, live together, six of them, in a tiny two-room house in the camp. It is very cramped. They have even divided the living room with a small piece of cloth (a pagne, a wrap cloth) to make another little bedroom.
The oldest has become like a father, a mother, and a protector to the others in their little home.
